Mahindra Bolero Power+

One of the biggest notable things in Bolero Power+ is its length. Very talented engineers in Mahindra just shave off 112 mm from Bolero’s length to 3995 mm. Moreover they have added 1.5 three cylinder MHawk diesel instead of 2.5 four cylinder m2DiCR.

They did it intentionally as after this practice Mahindra Bolero Power+. The latest sub-four meter SUV fall under the lower excise tax bracket that entitle them for 12.5% tax instead of 30% tax.

This simple math saves your whopping Rs. 80,000 over the standard version of Bolero. Well that’s hefty amount of saving that might you will not get from any other company.

You will not find any major difference in Bolero Power+ and Standard Bolero expert edges. If you look closer then you will find out that the front bumpers are actually sloped inward and it is done precisely. It not look like it is exaggerated.

To achieve the compact car title the rear metal plate has been re-designed. Apart from it there are you will find Power+ badges on sides. Its ‘P’ is marked in red that tells you that it is the powerful version of Bolero.

Mahindra Bolero Power+ interior design is influenced with truck’s interior design as the driver still need to struggle with ergonomically flawed large pedals and steering. Quality of the materials is not up to mark for the vehicle that comes with the price tag of nearly Rs. eight lakh. The longer Bolero+ has identical equipment levels. The front seats are not supportive because they are bit narrow. Moreover the middle row of Mahindra Bolero Power+ is also cramped. No need to say that it has less knee room especially for adults. Now no need to say that the third row too has less knee room and ideal only for small kids. In simple words the interior is much congested than you think. The same problem goes with the older version and company didn’t made any effort to make Mahindra Bolero Power+ more spacious. Power is not everything comfort also matters.

At lower revs all the torque has been distributed and it is combined with its short gearing that make it easy to drive around any village and stay flawless in city traffic.

In terms of outright acceleration on the open road it will reach 100 kmph in 20.90 seconds. Even in-gear acceleration times have significantly improved now with the SUV taking 6.15 seconds lesser for the 40-100kph sprint in fourth gear and 4.32 seconds lesser for 20-80 kmph in third gear.
